Una cassa acustica o diffusore acustico è un sistema di uno o più altoparlanti che trasformano il segnale elettrico proveniente da un amplificatore audio in suono.
Le più comuni casse acustiche sono basate su di un sistema a due vie, dove il woofer riproduce le tonalità basse e il tweeter le tonalità alte. Le frequenze audio vengono divise dal crossover.
I diffusori acustici possono essere attivi, sistemi acustici dotati di un amplificatore, o passivi sistemi acusitici che hanno bisogno di un amplificatore per funzionare.
